City of Espoo becomes a Millennium Innovation Forum Partner – global challenges are solved together
The Millennium Innovation Forum, which takes place on 27 May 2020 in Espoo, Finland, provides a unique platform for discussing and exchanging ideas at the interface of revolutionary future technologies and innovations. Espoo’s cooperation with TAF as a Millennium Innovation Forum Partner is a great example of public-private-partnership, an integral part of Finnish innovation ecosystem.
“Innovations are born in communities. Together with our partners we want to be actively involved in promoting sustainable growth and building a better future”, says Jukka Mäkelä, Mayor of Espoo.
The Millennium Innovation Forum partners emphasize borderless collaboration and intersectoral approaches. Collaboration is essential to transform revolutionary ideas into breakthrough innovations with global commercial viability.
”City of Espoo is one of the most innovative cities in the world for a reason. Espoo’s City as a Service -concept responds in a completely new way to the growing and diversifying service needs of its citizens. Espoo strongly supports the collaboration between industry and academia, and creates novel opportunities for the commercial success of innovations . Espoo is a pioneer of sustainable development and it can be benchmarked from various perspectives. It is a great pleasure to cooperate with Espoo”, says Ari Ahonen, CEO of Technology Academy Finland.
The Millennium Innovation Forum celebrates the Millennium Technology Prize, which is the world’s most prestigious award for innovations that improve the quality of people’s lives. The 2020 Prize, one million euros, will be awarded on 26 May.
