Selection process anD schedule
The Millennium Technology Prize is awarded in a two-year cycle. In 2027, the prize returns to its original schedule to award the prize in the spring season.

Call for the 2027 Millennium Technology Prize nominations
Nominations for the Prize are welcomed from organizations around the world and from all fields of technology, excluding military technology.
March – November 2026
Evaluation of the nominations
The Millennium Technology Prize nominations are evaluated by the International Selection Committee (ISC), composed of eminent professionals from academia and industry. To facilitate the work of the ISC, the Pre-Selection Committee screens the Millennium Technology Prize nominations for non-eligible submissions and invites external experts to pre-review the most promising nominations.

Decision of the 2027 Millennium Technology Prize winner(s)
The decision of the Millennium Technology Prize winner(s) is made by the Board of Technology Academy Finland and is based on the proposal of the International Selection Committee.
Spring 2027
Announcement of the 2027 Millennium Technology Prize winner(s)
The winner(s) of the prize announced worldwide.
May 2027
The 2027 Millennium Technology Prize
Award Ceremony
The 2027 Millennium Technology Prize winner(s) will be awarded at the Award Ceremony in May 2027. The Prize is presented to the winner(s) by the President of the Republic of Finland, patron of the Prize.
