Keijo Hämäläinen
Keijo Hämäläinen is President of Tampere University in Finland. He previously served as President of the University of Jyväskylä and as Vice-Rector of the University of Helsinki. He has held several leadership roles in Finnish and European science policy, including chairing the Rectors’ Council of Finnish Universities and the Federation of Finnish Learned Societies. He currently serves on the boards of the Finnish Cultural Foundation, the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra, and VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland. He is a professor of physics with a distinguished career in experimental condensed matter physics and synchrotron radiation research, and has extensive international experience, including long-standing collaboration with major research infrastructures such as ESRF.
