Video: Watch the 2020 Prize Ceremony again

The 2020 Millennium Technology Prize Winner Announcement and Award Ceremony was organized as a semi-virtual event in Finland and live-streamed on 18 May 2021.

Professors Shankar Balasubramanian and David Klenerman were awarded for their innovation of Next Generation DNA Sequencing that allows fast and cost-effective genome sequencing and is helping fight many diseases, for example Covid-19 and cancer.

The Prize was presented to the winners, professors Shankar Balasubramanian and David Klenerman, by President of the Republic of Finland Sauli Niinistö, Patron of the Prize.
